General
In order to keep our overhead low and ensures our providers can dedicate the majority of their time and attention to delivering the highest quality client care, we have kept the number of insurance plans we accept to a minimum.
Insurance we accept:
Aetna
Sentara
Anthem
If you are covered by an insurance company other than the three noted above, we are considered an out-of-network provider. To help you seek reimbursement, we will provide you with electronic paperwork, commonly referred to as a "Superbill," at the end of each month. You can then submit this Superbill directly to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement.
We strongly recommend that you contact your insurance provider in advance to understand your specific deductibles and out-of-network reimbursement rates. Please note: We do not accept Medicaid or Medicare, and those plans do not reimburse out-of-network providers.
We are always happy to answer any questions you have about this process.
To help you get started, here are some key questions to ask your insurance provider:
Do I have behavioral health insurance benefits?
What is my behavioral health benefit reimbursement rate? Is that different for in-network vs out-of-network?
Deductible:
What is my deductible?
Is it different for in-network vs out-of-network?
Do I behavioral health services count towards my deductible?
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees
You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises
In order to both organize our practice and guarantee clients regular times, we ask clients to provide 24 hours' notice if they need to cancel their session. Existing clients can cancel through the client portal or by contacting us by phone or email. If your provider does not hear from you in advance, you may incur a late cancellation fee. Cancelled sessions are not billable to your insurance.
